Shelvia Jean Johnson

Baxley-Shelvia Jean Fulton Johnson, 75, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Candler Hospital in Savannah. She was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County and a member of Baxley Freewill Baptist Church. She worked for Miller Western Wear and Town and County Beauty Shop. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Runt” Johnson and daughter, Debbie Johnson Motte.

Survivors include her six sons, John Johnson and wife Glenda of Baxley, Charles Johnson of Baxley, Dr. Keith Johnson and wife Patsy of Baxley, Kelvin Johnson of Baxley, James Johnson and wife Jenny of Jesup and Stanley Johnson and wife Tina of Baxley; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 26, 2012 from 6-8 pm from the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 10:30 am from the Baxley Freewill Baptist Church.

Interment will follow at Appling Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Buddy Aspinwall, James Twiggs, Dalton Lacy, Jack Johnson, Wendell Johnson, Jimmy Allen and Clay Martin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Graham and staff and the Adult Sunday School class at Baxley Freewill Baptist Church.

The family will be gathering at the residence of Stanley Johnson at 76 Satilla Church Road Baxley.
